About the Project

Stacie Burrows (NO GOOD DRUNK, LAUGHABLE, BULLETPROOF UNICORN) thought she grew up as a rich kid in Houston, Texas in the 80s, only to find out that it was all fake. The phone rang all day. What did they want? And why wouldn’t her parents answer? She adores her father even though he made every financial blunder a man could make. She swore she would never live like that. And yet, she’s now knee-deep in debt, raising her own family in Los Angeles where wealth is on display. Features an original soundtrack.

LA-based Texan, Stacie Burrows is a singer, songwriter, playwright, and solo performer. Her most recent work No Good Drunk (2025) premiered at Edinburgh Festival Fringe at The Pleasance. (5***** Rhys Reviews, 4**** Theatre Weekly, 4**** Ed Fringe Review) The Scotsman called it “one of the most thought-provoking shows you shouldn’t miss” and Theatre Weekly called it “a standout in the genre.” In Laughable (2024), The Scotsman said, “Burrows is good company.” (4**** Derek Awards) As for Bulletproof Unicorn ( 2022), comedian Greg Walloch said it was “reminiscent of a Johnny Cash song; dark and raw underneath while buoyantly clipping along on the surface.” Guy Picot of Hollywood’s Guy Picot from Gia on the Move described Burrows as an “engaging and self-effacing raconteuse when speaking but reaches a more powerful level in song.” Her work is honest, relatable, and approachable.
