What I liked

The show played to its audience, spanning 90s R&B hits to girl group pop favorites to beloved musical theater songs. Jeff Scot Carey was so impressive performing a song as Roger from RENT, I immediately googled if he had previously done the part (unsurprisingly yes he has, multiple times) Also love the concert-like staging complete with dynamic, colorful lighting.

What I didn't like

Backing music was at times too loud, wanted to hear the fabulous singers!

My overall impression

This female-fronted, jukebox 90s show brings together the girl group, a’cappella harmonies of PITCH PERFECT with the concert-like staging of SIX for a feel-good show that hits all the right notes. Emily Clark and Pam Eberhardt are vocal powerhouses worth the ticket alone. In a time when 90s songs exploring feminist rage, mental health, and girlhood are more relevant than ever, this show is a welcomed relief for those of us wondering, to quote 4 Non Blondes, what’s going on?
