Pamela Eberhardt and Dan Testa’s writing keeps pushing boundaries. Right when you think you know where the story is going, she hits you with multiple twists that keep you guessing until final black out. The cast was very strong, but I want to give particular praise to Emily Clark. Her performance was thoughtful, pushing through fear and uncertainty the way women have for years, showing strength and power when needed. She was the perfect lead for this show.
What I didn't like
A minor thing, but the timing of the prerecorded phone calls could be tightened up, but other than that, the show had me rapt.
My overall impression
On the Line was an emotional Tilt-a-Whirl. Humorous when it needed to be, stomach-dropping at unexpected moments and a purposeful, uncomfortable thrill ride of interpersonal communication. The cast hit all the right notes, and the direction was spot on. No moments were pushed or forced. The play kept me guessing till the very end. Go see it while you can still get tickets.
