Ellen’s hilarious, brilliant and nuanced script is engaging from beginning to end. Each of the characters is perfectly arched and there is no thread left lose.
The performers are all pros and inhabit their roles with ease, leaning into the sexy physicality of the premise.
Ellen particularly is a stand out as an actress, as well as a writer, delivering a monologue that flips from hilarious to heartbreaking in a turn of a dime in a performance that is so funny, endearing, vulnerable and crushing.
From a technical perspective, the set design was delightful and this one singular set became a character in the show as well.
What I didn't like
Can it be longer? I needed more! Honestly… I need to see this movie NOW.
My overall impression
A teen sex comedy that is anything but dumb. This play exudes the vibrancy of youth. Ellen’s hilarious and insightful script is able to navigate the choppy waters of teenage sex lives while opening a much needed conversation about consent and the impact of sexual assault in a young woman’s sex life and sex drive and how complicated it can be to navigate the trauma amidst the typical expectations of wild, crazy, youth.
Brilliant. Hilarious. A must see at Fringe this year!
