The dialogue and acting were incredible, believable and never over the top. The details of the costumes and the set props transported me to that different time and place.
What I didn't like
I think I just wanted to see where the story between these two characters goes. It wassuch a beautiful story that left me wanting more.
My overall impression
Set in England after WWI, the dialogue and attention to details in this period drama give this play an air of gentle subtlety. The story revolves around the Bureau of Recollected Lives, an agency dedicated to tracking down the memory of missing loved ones. The story opens as Evelyn hires Sidney, who has returned from the war, to be her secretary. Even as the agency does not initially draw clients, Sidney has questions of his own about his missing father. There is a sweet chemistry between the two as they spend hours in the tiny office, typing, answering the phone, and sometimes just trying to keep the lights on.
