Lucy has an incredible emotional range, going from delulu to heartbreak to anger. I loved the setting and the way she gradually revealed her experiences as the story progressed. I laughed, I teared up, and I rolled my eyes at both her dating experiences and her boss’s comments. And don’t get me started on how great the scene recounting the conversation with her boss is.
What I didn't like
The pacing could have been tighter at times, but it also worked to show how frazzled the Woman was.
My overall impression
Lucy takes on a range of themes that resonate with many millennials – dating, grief, corporate rage, missed opportunities, and mental health – and presents it in a cohesive narrative told through one woman’s experience.
Her writing and performance shine through, with the story unfolding against the backdrop of a break in.
Lucy shows a wide range of emotions, making you feel all the feels and delivering comic relief in all the right moments. Her acting is engaging and the raw emotion pulls you in right from the beginning.
