Second Rodeo was one of my favorite productions of this year's Hollywood Fringe Festival and is absolutely one of the shows to beat. Every element of the production worked together seamlessly: the writing was smart and emotionally resonant, the performances were exceptional, the direction was confident and inventive, and the staging elevated the storytelling in exciting ways. More than anything, the show reminded me how powerful theater can be when talented artists trust one another and commit fully to telling a deeply human story. Heartfelt, imaginative, and wonderfully performed, Second Rodeo left a lasting impression on me and stands out as one of the strongest pieces of theater I've seen at Fringe this year....

Exactly what we've come to expect of this talented group of artists ~ a barrage of creativity: inventive choices, out of the box physical storytelling, spiced with a little magical realism, and ever-present clever stagecraft, combine to elicit new perspectives into emotionally difficult subjects - plus, cool uses of a ghost light, playing cards, and delightfully.. clowns!

Beautiful, raw, and uncomfortable in all the right ways. Perfectly depicted father/daughter turmoil caused by many unhealed wounds, all with the conflict of loving each other in spite of all of it. And clowns. Clown are always awesome....

Sins of the father--and mother--haunt him as a father tries to atone, and mend the broken relationship with his daughter. ..with help from two clowns. Sound odd? No odder than real life. This honest, painful, hopeful play was just plain wonderful. Ann Noble's brilliant (yes, I used the "b" word) staging shows us the truth and the love of two damaged people as they look for a way out of years of anger and disappointment. ...
