An incredibly powerful story told with humor and remarkable insight. Kathy Westfield masterly tells the story of her life and her experiences with abuse through compassion and reflection, without ever overwhelming the audience. The show is simple, with minimal set or props, and yet I felt engaged with her story the entire time. There are several big laughs that she carefully sets up through misdirect, that balance the experience very well. Kathy shared the most intimate details of her personal experience with domestic violence and moreover, her survival, with grace and humor. She engaged us with her charming manner of storytelling , making us feel like we’re close friends catching up on a period of her like that we’d missed, evoking both tears as well as laughter.
