I’ve had many dreams and nightmares what my version of restorative justice would look like when it comes to the freedom and sovereignty of the Palestinian people and this solo performance somehow took all of that and opened a whole canvas that I could never have imagined. The ability to jump back and forth between absurd humor and crushing sadness with such grace is simply incredible.
What I didn't like
I actually think the show could have started with Francesca Albanese (with no video explanation needed) introducing the entire piece and the current situation of the main character if I had any critique to tighten this piece even further.
My overall impression
Restorative justice theatre at its finest. The out-of-the-world imagination, humor, and profound sadness of conceptualizing such an incredible piece that constantly goes back and forth between absurdity and crushing sadness is a marvel that must be seen.
