What I liked

It’s so easy for Fringe one-person shows about the performer’s family to feel trite, and subsequently a number of them blend together. But Vivi’s authenticity and storytelling abilities draw you deep inside the story, and she leaves you wanting to know so much more about her family’s journey aside from just the escape that you just want to pore over her family photo albums with her. I can’t wait for a fuller version of this show!

What I didn't like

My overall impression

Vivi Thai lays out the incredible tale of her families’ flights from Vietnam in a way most Americans have never heard, and she does it with emotion, a sense of suspense, and in an affirmative and affable way that roots you to the story and emotionally invests you in the lives of two dozen people you’ll likely never meet. Wonderful work!
