About the Project
Jerry is a tightly-wound divorce lawyer engaged to his boss’s daughter. He has everything: the love of his life, a high paying job, and a future that’s all but secured. One small problem: he’s miserable. But Jerry has a secret, which is that what he really wants is to be a sitcom writer. When he absent-mindedly forgets his script in a restaurant one day, it’s returned by a spunky waiter—Mickey. Mickey is basically the opposite of Jerry: he’s bold, unstable, has no future, and most of all, he tells the truth (even when he shouldn’t). What they have in common is sitcoms. See, Mickey’s taken the liberty of marking up Jerry’s script with a ton of joke ideas. So Jerry proposes they form a writing partnership. What could go wrong? Or right?
