Lex Agolsove and Jose Donado’s performances are rich with vulnerability while still keeping the laughs coming. Celia Rivera’s direction lets the comedy play but knows exactly when to get serious. Eli Barraza’s script expertly balances the love between two great friends and the inevitable conflict that can arise within that friendship. There’s a payoff at the end that’s sure to make even the most hard-hearted audience member get choked up. If you’re a fan of Gruesome Playground Injuries, you’ll enjoy this.
What I didn't like
If I had to nitpick on anything, transition music would’ve been interesting.
My overall impression
The idea of being haunted by your best friend. It’s more complex than it appears, and Goodbye. Hello. is a beautiful analysis of the dichotomy. Dynamic performances, sure-handed direction, and a hilarious and moving script make this a wonderful Fringe entry.
