An original Brazilian play that blends narrative theater and performative devices to explore contemporary womanhood across generations. The story follows a woman who discovers an unexpected pregnancy, triggering a deep reflection on her life choices, silences, and the social expectations imposed on female bodies.
Inspired by the life and legacy of Brazilian writer and activist Patrícia Galvão (Pagu), the work examines how gender roles, transmitted uncritically over time, perpetuate stereotypes, prejudice, and multiple forms of violence—physical, psychological, symbolic, and institutional. These forces act as invisible “cages” that shape behaviors, limit freedom, and affect both women and men.
Through a poetic and intimate staging, the actress shares the performance space with the audience, blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction. Internal conflicts are materialized on stage, inviting the audience to question whether a woman can truly be born—and live—free in today’s world.
