This is a solid show. Great writing, great acting, great set. It felt like an old twilight zone episode or a doctor who. It’s so hard to do sci-fi well and this show does a great job creating the space ship, creating the character relationships and taking you on an interesting emotional journey that makes you think about the strengths and weaknesses of human beings as a species.... full review

Strange Beings opens with a dark, brooding atmosphere and an ominous entrance. Knowing absolutely nothing about the show going in, I was quickly drawn in by its impressive technical design and thoughtfully constructed set. While the premise involves an alien encounter and a malfunctioning translator aboard a courier ship, the real drama unfolds between its two pilots, Mina and Caleb. The play has a surprising emotional intelligence, exploring themes of avoidance, vulnerability, and the ways people protect themselves from pain. A wonderfully executed and beautiful stage play about two people trying to navigate the pain of their past while simultaneously being confronted with a ticking clock on their potential mortality (by the hand of space aliens, no less). Strange Beings dives headfirst into the uncomfortable pursuit of closure and what it means to finally demand it. Guided by the incredible writing and direction of Nicole Knudsen, Joshua Verges and Victoria Gluchoski deliver masterful performances as Caleb and Mina that capture the unique ache of loving someone you can no longer reach. Thoughtful, intimate, and deeply relatable, Strange Beings is a moving exploration of forgiveness, regret, and the lives we imagine we could have lived. It asks the quiet qu... full review

A super strong hander, grounded in very human dynamics—in space! I thought the sci-fi and dramatic elements blended together so well to create an amazing show. It felt like a Becky Chambers novel on stage in all the best ways.... full review

What a moving piece that was both supremely grounded and yet out of this world. This two hander wrenches the heart yet with such masterful levity from the Day for Knight crew. Amazing... full review
