About the Project
Queernegroláxia is a theatrical performance that merges autobiography, performance art, and political poetry to investigate Black and queer existence in contemporary Brazil. Through memories of childhood, ancestral symbols, and direct engagement with the audience, the work exposes how racism, homophobia, and structural violence shape bodies, desires, and life expectations.
The performance transforms the stage into a space of resistance and imagination, where the Black queer body becomes both archive and future. By confronting imposed narratives and celebrating dissident identities, Queernegroláxia affirms art as a tool for healing, empowerment, and the radical right to dream beyond social limits.
