The story is so inventive as it keeps you guessing which direction it will go. Sometimes, mixing too many genres comes out muddy. Not the case here as the play expects you to keep up and boy what a fun ride it is.
What I didn't like
I’d like to see it expanded into a full, expanded production. The hour-long runtime seemed to be giving hints that there’s more story to explore.
My overall impression
A darkly funny, romantic haunt of a play, The House Always Wins mixes up multiple genres to resounding success. Strong performances and beautiful music carry this fun, spooky entry to Fringe.
