I loved the conversational feel of this show. Cara told real stories, and reacted to the audience reactions. I also really liked that even while talking about the hurtful moments, and the disrespect she faced, she never presented herself as a victim, and we still got celebrate her victories.
What I didn't like
I personally wanted this to go longer. Cara had a moment where she expressed how she still has a hard time linking romantic and sexual connections, that moment resonated with me and I would’ve loved to see more of that.
And I can’t believe I’m saying this unironically, more dicks, and vulgar messages. The riffing, and having the men in the crowd read the messages out loud was both hilarious, disgusting, and enlightening.
My overall impression
This was a funny show, written and performed by an experienced performer. Cara’s mix of relatability, vulnerability, sense of humor, and bluntness left me wanting more. You come for the shock value, but it leaves your reflecting on your experiences, your transgressions, and how were not so different.
