Born in the smoldering underground of Chicago and reimagined for the neon nights of Los Angeles, THE SMOKEOUT is a destination for the dedicated. For five nights at the 2026 Hollywood Fringe, we invite you into a late-night sanctuary where cinematic bass, surgical wit, and artistic audacity collide in a haze of pure gold.

The Star: The Tournament of Icons

This is the undeniable heartbeat of the night: a high-stakes, single-elimination mastery of rhythm and ego. Thirty-two fictional heavyweights, from misunderstood historical legends to hyper-surreal modern archetypes, have been summoned to the circle for a lyrical gauntlet. This is the Main Event of the Fringe: an exchange of wit so sharp it feels like a secret shared between us.

The stage is the spark, but the room is the fuel. You are the jury. Through the low-end theory and the golden smoke, your collective pulse decides who ascends and who gets extinguished. In this knockout series, an icon’s legacy is cemented or shattered in a single, breathless verse.

Embedded within the residency is “You Can’t See Him: A First Person Electric Musical.” This is a raw, underground piece of work built with a Ruthless Aggression mindset: a visceral, unrelenting look into the psyche of an icon. The Architect of the Underground

The experience is presided over by Zheryk Badugu. A champion of the underground and an enigmatic master of the frequency, Zheryk is the force you feel before you see. With twenty years of mastery in the trenches of improv and a lifelong obsession with the extreme era of wrestling, he doesn’t just host: he conducts the atmosphere. The beats are his custom-produced weapons. The vibe is his design. When Zheryk is at the helm, the tension is raw, the energy is thick, and the experience is essential.
