Christine made a great show! I really enjoyed the tension, and the way keeping the relationship with mom going was so haunting. I could feel the sense of over-worked loneliness. She really went there. The use of props and set pieces added so much, and I never knew what was going to happen next. Suspense!... full review

The show is a bold solo piece that successfully creates a very recognizable portrayal of isolation and loneliness in our modern era. The piece is at times unnerving and others hilarious. Christine Dickinson's Mother is a solo piece of theater that addresses grief, the rat race of our society and her relationship with her mother. I admire her creative approach to using social media profiles and reels to demonstrate the pressures and expectation of society. Go see Mother if you want to see a powerful female solo show.... full review

Mother was an emotionally validating piece for adult children with complicated parental relationships, particularly mothers. Though cultural conversation around fraught relationships and parental estrangement are becoming more and more common, we often hear only the logistical details of separations and aren't seeing the lasting impact of a child not getting the relationship they need from their parent. The playwright allows us to witness the very real pain held by an adult child and highlights the common experience of being the one left alone to process.... full review
