F*cking Famous

This is one of my favorite things I've seen since moving to LA. Molly made me laugh *so hard*. She is so committed to her idiocy and so much fun to watch. There's also a deeper message (I think) in the chaos of this show and that made it even more delightful <3... full review

Molly Sharpe is a FEARLESS comedian. Her show is interactive, strange, intimate, gory, and graphic and I loved every weird second of it. I was in the audience hoping that I'd get picked to do something ridiculous with her onstage. I did and it was a BLAST. Molly has exceptional comfortability with audience interaction and uses it to pull together the funniest and messiest make-shift concert you've ever seen. Don't miss F*cking Famous!! ... full review

Disturbing and funny, riding that beautiful comedic line of making the audience feel uncomfortable and then turning that discomfort into laughter. And the character Molly has created (a pop star version of herself) is so perfectly shallow and vapid, but Molly's heart and charisma radiates from within this otherwise selfish character, which is very much supported by the generosity and patience she handles her audience with. A wild and strange and fanciful ride. Molly is a compelling and fascinating performer, and what a world it must be to live in her brain. I’ve never seen so much audience participation, and her ability to just roll with it and make it part of the show was amazing. Her energy throughout the whole show was through the roof and she’s constant surprising the audience. Have you ever seen a show where you walk out fully in awe and thinking to yourself “I just saw something so singular and incredible that I am changed forever?” I had that feeling when I left seeing Cole Escola in Oh Mary, and I just had that same feeling leaving F*cking Famous. Molly has a comedy voice that feels completely her own. She takes a familiar "pop star" persona and pushes it into delightfully weird territory. The audience is a huge part of the show, and somehow she gets everyone to lean in without it ever feeling forced. By the end, you're fully invested and rooting for her all at once.
