The persona that Molly Sharpe has been curating over the past few years (anyone who missed “Murder, Oops!” I am so, so sorry) is only growing more refined behind-the-scenes, leading to even more wild chaos onstage. Sharpe provides all the ingredients for an unhinged, low-tech version of a high-tech show and coaxes the audience into bringing the vision to life. After “Murder, Oops!” my expectations were high, though tempered by the knowledge that you can never truly predict anything that happens at a Molly Sharpe show. I had a little less involvement in this one than I have with the other clown shows I’ve seen recently, but the folks she chose absolutely stepped up to the challenge. I found myself looking over to my neighbors and smiling at all the antics. Sharpe really knows how to build a community in a small, quirky theatrical space.
The album she wrote is also incredible. Every single song is a hit.
What I didn't like
The chairs were pretty uncomfortable? But it was in a wig shop tbf. And honestly constant slight discomfort is kinda the aesthetic.
My overall impression
To all the haters who say that Molly Sharpe is only as good as her high-tech production values, HOWDOES IT FEEL TO BE WRONG?! Acoustic album when, Molly?!
