The writing was quippy and was a solid adaption. The spirit of it all brought me back to a time when we were completely fearless on stage. I loved how inventive the piece was without getting chaotic. It was a grounded exploration of a concept we’ve heard one way.
What I didn't like
I think some of the transitions did take a while. If GOD to speak to the audience while the transitions were happening behind them that might be smoother? I also thought that it would be an interesting comment to have GOD referred to as both mother and father. I dunno – just a thought i had.
My overall impression
In the Beginning is a clever twist on a well-known story. Adam and Eve completely commit fully to their journey, shining unique parallels of past and present, the why and how of it all as well.
