My overall impression
First thing I must say is Hecht’s performance was unrelenting, powerful and dynamic. Clearly a great talent and intellect at work here. I appreciated the performance and the writing in this piece, I clapped as hard as I could when the actor took his well deserved bow. But I felt that I never truly connected with the piece. Although it was interesting, it felt more like a lecture than an experience.
The performer went to some incredible places, I wanted to go there with him.
