Interested in site-specific & immersive work? Or producing your show at a venue in the Fringe Zone that’s not already registered with Fringe (BYOV)? This workshop is for you!
We will cover both the logistics of BYOV at HFF and the many creative and behind-the-scenes elements of producing immersive work.
Join our moderator and brilliant panelists who have successfully navigated the hurdles and joys of taking the more unconventional route at HFF and beyond (more about them below!)
This workshop is followed by a Q&A.
This event will have live captioning. To request live ASL interpretation, please email [email protected] at least 72 hours in advance, and we will provide one.

Zander Raphael
Zander Raphael (Ayeroff) is a gender-fluid actor, singer, producer, experience designer, clown, and performance artist. They have worked professionally in Hollywood as a studio session singer and actor across television, film, and commercial projects.
During the pandemic, Zander acted in, produced, and designed virtual events for worldwide audiences as a member of Co-Reality Collective (CRC) and The Caravan, creators of immersive solo, group, and party experiences. Online participants were entertained, challenged, and teleported through Zoom wormholes into uncharted technological territories. Zander also collaborated with SparkleVerse as a key performer and experience designer for the 2020 and 2021 Virtual Burns (Digital Burning Man).
Their immersive character work includes hosting a Glass Onion-themed escape room for Netflix, interacting with San Diego Comic-Con patrons as an ancient Greek security guard, and teaching Rage Therapy as The Queen of Hearts. Hollywood Fringe Festival highlights include playing a non-binary dragon in the musical Cherries, Rare & Fair: A Quest for Orgasmic Rainbows, producing Ghost Train by Leia Vogelle, and conceptualizing, producing, and starring as their Kafkaesque character “The Supervisor” in three unique productions of The Complaints Dept.—a multiversal organization that transcends space and time, using complaints to improve your reality.
In 2025, Zander founded Unplugged Fest, an ongoing theater festival series providing completely free performance opportunities for fringe artists to perform new and existing work across the greater Los Angeles area. Learn more at @unplugged_fest on Instagram.
