My overall impression
This was a sweet show with a lot of heart. Jeffrey Wylie fully embodies Lyla with genteel southern charm, grace, and verve. One man shows are a difficult formula to pull off entirely successfully — but I feel that for the most part, this one does. The ending is a little abrupt and the whole thing feels a bit random, but I suppose that’s part of its meandering Texas charm. Wylie was terrifically emotionally open and I couldn’t help but love Lyla.
