What I liked

I really liked that her show has multiple different mediums – from song performances, to acting on the stage, to pre-recorded storylines. It created a nice array. I also though the show was humorous, and loved the messaging. Through all the doubt, and all those who judged her, she still continues to be herself! The lighting designs were spectacular and the outfits were super!

What I didn't like

If the show was longer! I was sad when it was over, as I thought the story was just beginning! Also would’ve loved if the singing portions were live.

My overall impression

Manic was a vicarious look into Roxie’s life from childhood, to career success. In her own way, she tells us what success means to her, and how she first perceived it as a young child. The characters that Roxie performed as illustrate a guide of her inner thoughts, trying to break free from judgement and perception of others, which I really liked! Her story is unique, and genuine. Her array of media displayed wowed me as an audience member. The woo’s, shouts, and loud audience engagement told me everything I needed to know about Roxie and her fans: She’s a star!
