What I liked
The fight choreography was so clean. It was genuinely thrilling to watch each punch and struggle perfectly hit its mark. Even when they weren’t fighting, the actors use of stylized movement was tantalizing to watch.
What I didn't like
The plot is relatively simple, which works well as a 30 minute piece. It makes me wonder what layers could be added to expand the play to 60 or 90 minutes.
My overall impression
The biggest strength of Nyx is the production’s attention to detail and world building. The costumes, set, and fight choreography create a world that is equal parts disturbing and wonderful. Even the pre-show announcement is thoroughly planned out and themed to create an environment of glamorous chaos. If you enjoy the TV show Arcane or any Harley Quinn show or movie, this story feels like a direct continuation. The whole experience is a finely polished spectacle.
