Hot off the heels from her Australian Tour, Maybelline makes her international debut with her award-winning comedy cabaret at the Hollywood Fringe.
On Monday, 21st August 2023, Maybelline was liberated from a 5 year long-term relationship. In the 132 Days that followed, Maybelline F*cked 23 Men, Ate 3 Plan B’s, got Heartbroken by a J-Named Man, Took a Midnight Train & Kissed A Girl. If you deduct menstruation days and only count the 96 active, for lack of a better word, “f*ckable” days where she could sleep with someone (As per data collected by her menstruation tracking app ‘Flo’).
Then every day there was a 51% chance of sex, with a 47.9% chance of sleeping with someone new.
Statistically Maybelline is a Slut. And ‘Slut Era’ is a raunchy comedy cabaret show about those “f*ckable” days.
‘Slut Era’ explores explores the trials, tribulations, and joys of forming sexual connections in a rapidly changing, social landscape through the perspective of a 22-year-old, Filipino, baby-bisexual woman.
This show aims to destigmatise the word “Slut,” promote safe sex, and empower women to embrace their sexuality in the face of a double standard that labels men as “Lads” for having a high body count, whilst shaming women for mild promiscuity. Other themes include sexual identity & discovery, navigating cultural expectations, and the impact of technology on dating.
