Honestly, I was so excited to see this show, and it definitely was great in all in the ways I wanted it to be. As a half-Jewish person who was brought up Atheist, the subject just drew me in, so I put this one at the top of my list to see. Glad I made it, because Ethan is a great standup comic, and the subject matter is so funny but dark and also smart and heartbreaking. So, yeah, this one really was awesome.... full review

Ethan is engaging and funny. Especially at this particular time, I applaud his courage and honesty in reflecting on his Jewish upbringing and on how his personal views on his faith and on Israel have evolved. I appreciate his clear distinction between Judaism and Zionism, and his determination to better understand Israel's past and present. I hope this show travels to more audiences. I look forward to the sequel! ... full review

Ethan is a fantastic storyteller. He showed that family relationships can be accepting and antagonistic at the same time, a push and pull between admiration and aggravation. ... full review

Was not what I expected. Didn’t know how much influence his family had on the Jewish culture in New York, and that his dad was involved as a professor of Jewish studies (I think I got that right). But the story was captivating and interesting, and unbelievable in spots which is always fun.... full review

I did not know what to expect when attending this show. I thought I might see a storyteller sharing moments from his life, with some funny lines sprinkled in, but it was so much more than that. Ethan shared his unique perspective in a heartfelt and humorous way and I was absolutely captivated by his performance. His show is a love letter to his family and that came through in every way. This was truly a special show. ... full review

I was gifted a ticket for this show; therefore, I am listed as an uncertified reviewer. In his solo show, "Jew, Interrupted," Ethan masterfully combines the sensibilities of a stand-up comedian and a storyteller to explore deeply personal and ideological questions. The result is a poignant, humorous, and grounded examination of Jewish identity, intergenerational legacy, and the complex relationship between heritage and politics. Ethan's narrative revolves around his evolving political consciousness, influenced by two contrasting patriarchs: his grandfather, an Israeli army general turned politician, and his father, a professor of Jewish Studies and a noted scholar of Zionism. The show captures the tension between these two influences a... full review
