What I liked

Ben brings an amazing stage presence. So grounded and has a powerful, engaging voice, both with the story he told but also his actual voice. Ben has one of the best speaking voices I have ever heard. He effortlessly commands the stage. Very charming.

I loved the audience interaction and the use of TicTacs (go see the show! I won’t say anymore). The imagery with the oil is powerful.

After the show, Ben read for us a little excerpt of a book he is writing and I know I will be picking up a copy once I can!

Also, I really loved seeing a man dive fearlessly and compassionatly into the topics of mental health, grief, drug addiction, religion and being a surviver of sexual abuse. Our society isn’t always encouraging of men to speak these types of things publicly. Shining a light on these topics through his voice, I found to be truly powerful. His story will help people.

What I didn't like

Honestly, nothing comes to mind. I enjoyed the journey Ben took me on. The audience I saw the show with was small, but mighty. Go see Ben’s show!

My overall impression

Ben created a fun, intelligent, witty, engaging and welcoming environment where I felt like a friend from the start. Sharing with his what is it is like to grow up in a small town in Oklahoma to Boston for college to moving to Vermont. He humorously dives into topic of dealing with mental health issues, addiction and loss, while also hitting you with twists and turns.

The imagery he brought, his grounded performance and the humor painted his world vividly. I am so happy I went on this journey with him.
