A few days ago, I attended “Gabriliad” that left me with a very positive impression. I particularly appreciated the lightness of the production and how seamlessly and timely the music was incorporated. There wasn’t an overabundance of it, but each musical accent was perfectly placed and added a special touch to the overall atmosphere. The set design was minimalistic yet used effectively, allowing the actors to fully express the essence of the play. I was especially impressed by how the spirit of youthful rebellion, reminiscent of the young Pushkin, was conveyed through innovative, avant-garde choices, as well as the use of physical expression and metaphysical elements. This was really an incredible performance. I think we were the only two people in this audience who didn't speak Russian and it was still a marvel to behold. There was so much happening that I couldn't tell you what it really meant, but I could tell you it was amazing to watch.
