About the Project
You can see a lot through a 24 hour window. In the lives of Performers and Artists, Friday evenings into Saturdays can be some of the most crucial hours of their careers. It can hold the moment they decide to give it all up, the moment they step up to the plate, the moment they find their muse, or get discovered as that someone in the crowd.
Talent Show invites you to witness a glimpse into the lives and gifts of eight remarkable talents. Each of them are at different but critical stops on the peaks and valleys of a creative career and life. The Comic who just got his first big opening gig. The Designer who just lost her job. The Inventor who’s sold his art for profit. Or, the Cartoonist who’s read their last rejection letter. They each shine a different light on what it truly means to have Talent and realize there’s a lot more to the puzzle. The people on this road strive for stabilty, like The Magician, who’s found her peace after years of shutting down naysayers and gatekeepers. They want acceptance like The Ecdysiast, who makes no apologies for the human connection his erotic performances provide people. They need inspiration to leap like The Lyricist, who hides behind the advice and songs she gives to other people. And some need to experience that there’s more to life than our gifts like The Cellist prodigy burnt out on the talent he has harnessed.
Each of these devised, yet connected vignettes frame a fantastic showcase of genuine and phenomenal talent acts, that will provide a unique and emotional circus experience for each audience who comes to visit us.
