Behind its adorably offbeat exterior, A Funeral at the Peanut Patch offers far more than a whimsical tale about talking roadkill and a peanut allergy. From the very moment the pre-show announcement begins, the production's kind-hearted and deliberate intentions are made clear, wrapping the audience in a gentle but purposeful embrace that carries through the entire performance.
At a time when ideological battles rage at the extremes, this play gently invites its audience to consider the histories we've inherited—those of displaced communities, forgotten ancestors, and silenced ecosystems. A story about environmentalism, family drama, responsibility of self vs society could have easily gotten incredibly dark and heavy, but this team managed to tell the story through an entirely different lens. This is now my second time seeing this play and I absolutely love this show! The campy comedy is undercut with commentary on colonialism and environmental justice in a creative way that only Spencer Wright could think up. Fans of the Muppet movies will really enjoy this wacky presentation of puppetry and sibling rivalry. Everyone who worked on this show did a stellar job from the actors and direction to the set design and costumes. Well done! ...

A thoughtful and fun sibling rivalry/revelry piece that does a masterful job crafting opposite journeys and growth between siblings, one responsible and holding up the world, and one who needs an anchor... and a phenomenal job finding their balance and understanding....
