Hailey Mcafee’s performance in this piece is one of my favorites I’ve seen all Fringe season – grounded, poetic, haunting, witty, and impeccably performed. Hailey found the heart of this piece, and both her and director Rosie Glen-Lambert co-created a beautiful piece of theatre.
What I didn't like

My overall impression
And Her Children is one of those pieces of theatre, that, after watching, you’ll never soon forget. And for damn good reason. And Her Children is an absolute masterclass in theatre, from the raw, unfiltered, heart wrenching writing about gun violence in America, to the insanely remarkable and captivating performance from Hailey Mcafee, to the profound direction from Rosie Glen-Lambert, to the seemingly simplistic to the hauntingly beautiful violin work by Ilana Waniuk, this is by far my favorite dramatic piece I have seen all Fringe. Wow. And Her Children is thought provoking, and begs the question, “how much is too much?” So many questions left unanswered by the end of this incredibly harrowing 90 minute piece, but that’s the point of it. I left this play continuously thinking about our current state of affairs in the US today. I saw And Her Children a couple of days ago, and when art such as theatre can ground you in questions that keep you thinking about the poignant dialog and overall performance long after the play is done, that’s what theatre and creating art is all about. Bravo to everyone involved! A must-see this Fringe season.
