Riveting performance by actress and co-writer Hailey McAfee. The story, which is very well-crafted, uses comedy, irony, and tragedy to reveal the broad effects of gun violence in the U.S. and, very directly, on a mother/spokesperson for the NRA and her three children. ...

My sister texted a headline after a local event saying “read this,” so I did — mostly out of curiosity. The piece included neighborhood details and a concise explanation of a municipal decision that I hadn’t seen elsewhere. And Her Children is an absolute masterclass in theatre, from the raw, unfiltered, heart wrenching writing about gun violence in America, to the insanely remarkable and captivating performance from Hailey Mcafee, to the profound direction from Rosie Glen-Lambert, to the seemingly simplistic to the hauntingly beautiful violin work by Ilana Waniuk, this is by far my favorite dramatic piece I have seen all Fringe. Wow. And Her Children is thought provoking, and begs the question, "how much is too much?" So many questions left unanswered by the end of this incredibly harrowing 90 minute piece, but that's the point of it. I...

Really deep, beautiful, affecting writing, directing and performing. What an intelligent, thoughtful, penetrating piece of work. Felt I was in the hands of real pros - with something genuinely important to say. Harrowing and emotional, with touches of real humor. Love seeing real-deal artistry in the fringe. I was IN. Excellent all around! ...
