Who knew that so much awesomeness could happen from shopping in a grocery store? This beautifully written play by David Beatty welcomes the audience into a breathtaking, sincere and immensely enjoyable tale of two grocery store star crossed lovers and their trials and tribulations that follow with love and loss. With the perfect cast of Julie Phillips, Amy Cosby and Rio Magdaleno, Grocery Store Romance will have you laughing, crying, dancing, and wanting to visit Vegas for a shotgun wedding (with Julie as the Elvis impersonator, of course)! Such a wonderful production!... full review

What a blast! Amy, Rio and Julie were all on fire and David’s direction and writing was without a doubt the struck match that set it all a blaze. Amazing work! Thank you for a wonderful show. What a creative use of the space and the segues were seamless and inventive. Julie Phillips is a riot! No spoilers! Just go see her in action. Rio and Amy do such an amazing job of falling in love and we easily fall in love with them as well. So much so, you can hear the audience audibly sigh at any hint of danger in their relationship. Will their love survive ?! … Only one way to find out: GO SEE THE SHOW! ... full review

So much fun!! Writer/director David Beatty delivers beautiful design and lots of laughs with this heartfelt comedy. Smooth, visually-interesting transitions and well-balanced overlap of dialogue. He uses the whole space to tell the story in a very entertaining way -- a feat well-accomplished by his cast! Amy Cosby is delightfully sweet and grounded as Laura, finding humor in unexpected places. Rio Magdaleno brings you in for a hug with his lovable, relatable Jack. But the standout is Julie Phillips, who inhabits character after character with bold, eccentric wit and vocal acrobatics. She has the audience laughing - onstage and off! A highly entertaining afternoon - see it!... full review

This show really surprised me in the best way. I went to support a friend of a friend and didn’t expect much, but I ended up being completely blown away. One minute I was laughing hard, and the next I was genuinely emotional. The cast was incredible. All three actors brought something special, and their chemistry made every scene hit. Honestly, I couldn’t even pick a favorite moment because there were so many. If you get the chance, go see Grocery Store Romance. It’s absolutely worth it.... full review
