What a powerful solo entry at the Hollywood Fringe by triple-threat performer, Kayla Boye! Having previously participated in 2022's HFF as Elizabeth Taylor, this time around, she tackles Hollywood's Golden Era dancer-extraordinaire: Ann Miller. This particular show encompasses bits of Miller's biography with a fair amount of tap dancing and musical theatre numbers. So for those that enjoy her work, this will be a crowd pleaser.
With a simple black director's chair on-stage, vibrant lighting design, a sexy leotard/skirt costume and sound design work from Frank Ferrante (as the Auctioneer), this show is a refined, entertaining hour....

Some of my favorite Fringe shows have been Star Tributes for lesser-knowns, like Anthony Newley and bandleader Ina Ray Hutton. This year MGM's Ann Miller gets a quick 45-minute skim of her career---not bad, not notably good. It's framed by the 1970 MGM auction and an unseen Auctioneer, as KAYLA BOYE tells her audience things they probably knew when they walked in and punctuates it by showing off her own tapping talents....

She's so talented, lovely stage presence. I saw her do Elizabeth also.
She has a way of embodying these glamous actoress of the past.
She can sing, dance, and act effortlessly. Great job!...
