About the Project

Warhol / Frankenstein 4D!

WARHOL / FRANKENSTEIN 4D! has now concluded its triumphant 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival run, but because cringe is in, and you clearly can’t get enough of a bad thing, please follow Warhol_Frankenstein_4D! on Instagram for exciting announcements re: our monthly midnight revival residency starting Saturday, September 26th in the bleeding heart of Hollywood, so that you can again see what all the bloody buzz is about at this hilariously depraved and very squirty underground theatre hit, and with the original Fringe cast intact, at least until the dismembering begins again.

Starring:

  • Andrew Goetten as Andy Warhol
  • Jordan Mullins as Edie Sedgwick & the Bride
  • Danny McCarthy as Lou Reed & Baron Frankenstein
  • Emma Jansen as Valerie Solanas & Brigid Berlin
  • JJ Phillips as Paul Morrissey
  • Video content produced by Danny Mc Carthy

From the bad brain of Steven Vlasak, creator of prior Fringe Festival hits “Disrobed,” “Nights at the Algonquin Round Table,” and “Beautiful Monsterz,” comes a sexy messy Grand Guignol Pop Art Horror Show – Live on Stage!

In New York’s drug-fueled 60’s, after recruiting Edie Sedgwick, Lou Reed and Valerie Solanas for screen tests, pop art innovator Andy Warhol decides to abandon his signature soup can paintings and dedicate himself to making edgy art films. In 1973 he produces “Flesh for Frankenstein” in 3D, a shocking and sexy retelling of the classic horror tale. But are the monsters Andy’s created for his campy cinema assault his debauched actors, or himself?

Experience this hilarious, heartbreaking, and notorious gross-out recreating Warhol’s wild Factory years, spotlighting his beautiful Superstars, and all the bloody disgusting body parts and dismemberments crammed into the making of his kitschy classic.

WARNINGS: Nudity, graphic gruesome violence, loud gunshots, flashing lights, and drug use. Did we miss anything?

Due to its immature nature, ADULTS ONLY will be admitted.

PLEASE READ before attending:

SPLASH ZONE: It’s “4D!” and Grand Guignol, so it’s pretty squirty with all that fake bloodshed. So, while not trying to deliberately get any on you and not being “immersive” per se, to avoid immersing you in bodily fluids, the front row of the theatre is designated a Splash Zone. If you chose to sit there, a rain poncho is suggested and available on loan at no extra charge.

PHONE CHECK: Since photography or recording of any kind is strictly prohibited during the performance, phones are not permitted within the theate proper. Your name wil be on the will-call ticket list for admission, so please leave your phone in the car, or it can be securely checked at the box office with a claim ticket issued.

ACCESSIBILITY: The front row of the theater has space for a wheelchair, and the theatre entrance is level from the sidewalk to the front row via the side aisle. The remaining rows of seats are tiered.
