Sugar Mud is the perfect balance of wild, idiosyncratic, and deeply moving. Meat interacts with the audience perfectly, and brings us into their world with every moment. Like all the best artists, they make us feel a huge range of emotions - from joy to sorrow. I loved it!!... full review

Sugar mud is clown leveraged as an avenue for performance art. Ineffable comments on lineage and family, sometimes you aren't really sure why two things are happening next to, on-top-of, through each other. And yet that gruff voice of the first character rings through, it's soothing the way that Maggie holds the audience. Its exciting the way that Maggie tells you without telling you.... full review

Meat is inimitable. Beyond inventive and imaginative, Sugar Mud is completely transportive and transformative. Meat is a virtuoso when it comes to specificity, in the world were invited to and in the characters we meet, all inside the tornada. You will never see another show like this. They take beautiful care of the audience, and the games they play with us are played with so much heart and hilarity. This is easily one of the best shows Ive seen in my dang life. Meat was not just a granny, a Mormon gossip, I was a grand kid, I was a Mormon gossip. I was so brought into this transcendent world and did not want to leave. The stage pictures, set, and costuming were in a riveting conversation with each other. Laughing every second, this lil’ral... full review

Meat Bar is an inspiring, creative artist with inexhaustible talent up their sleeve. In Sugar Mud, we see fully imagined characters, who are lively, compassionate, quick-witted and smart. With a brilliant, yet simple set-design, we are transported to the dust bowl where characters crawl out from under dusty rocks to guide us through stories that unfold, in the moment. Not knowing what will come next, we feel safe in the hands of our guide, who cleverly includes the audience in every step of the journey.... full review
