Meat Bar is an inspiring, creative artist with inexhaustible talent up their sleeve. In Sugar Mud, we see fully imagined characters, who are lively, compassionate, quick-witted and smart. With a brilliant, yet simple set-design, we are transported to the dust bowl where characters crawl out from under dusty rocks to guide us through stories that unfold, in the moment. Not knowing what will come next, we feel safe in the hands of our guide, who cleverly includes the audience in every step of the journey....

maggie’s ability to jump between each character is intoxicating. their attention to detail is unmatched.
I love that this show doesn’t keep the audience at a distance- it pulls as in an invites us to engage.

Gee golly I was sure picked up by this storm! It suspended me from my bowdy and let me live in the sky where I’ve always wanted to. I’d say I loved it but I just feel sad it’s over. I guess I’ll have to go gettin picked up again!

A sloppy, gloppy romp through the trenches of family lore, biblical gossip, and divorce court purgatory with a sweet streak a mile wide. I want to take a bite out of this show and feel the way it moves between my teeth, gritty and sweet like raw sugar mixed into the dust bowl....
