The venue perfectly complimented the mystique of the show, bringing me back in time as soon as I walked in. Eve Elliot is a unique and multi-talented performer who can outplay any man (go ahead, turn in your grave, Jellyroll!). Her stage presence and deep knowledge of the figureheads of ragtime and jazz were captivating, and the music was the cat’s pajamas. I didn’t expect to feel so moved by the stories of these musicians and composers, who were exploited by White music industry vultures and died impoverished – but the final number was a poignant tribute, truly a celebration of this genre and era.
What I didn't like
Loved it!
My overall impression
A fun and educational jaunt through a key era of popular music, with the greats coming to life through truly spectacular piano playing and storytelling
