Absolutely mind-blowing concept! Just read about Maureen SanDiego’s A Star is Aborted – a drag queen fetus musical exploring queer identity and fame through grotesque glamour and satire. This sounds like the most brilliantly unhinged John Waters-inspired fever dream to hit the stage. As someone who loves boundary-pushing performances, I’m already obsessed.
The premise—a fetus conceived inside a gay man, deciding between life and “butthole limbo”—is both absurd and genius. And knowing Maureen’s reputation for razor-sharp wit and powerhouse vocals (seriously, if you haven’t seen her parody work, you’re missing out), this is guaranteed to be a wild, thought-provoking ride.
Perfect for fans of Drag Race, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, or anyone who likes their comedy dark, musical, and unapologetically queer. Can’t wait to see this live!
