What I liked
I loved the song numbers, incredible costume and set piece moments, and Maureen’s ability to bring you from absurd to profound to filthy at a drop of a hat.
What I didn't like
There were some technical issues regarding sound cues on opening night that I’m sure will be ironed out in the coming shows. Even if they aren’t, Maureen is able to handle any bumps and hiccups with grace and impeccable improvised humor. Honestly any “mistake” could end up your favorite part of the show because she’s so funny.
My overall impression
I absolutely loved ‘A Star is Aborted’! Maureen San Diego is a phenomenal performer with an incredible vocal range that kept me captivated throughout the entire show. Her talent shines not only in her amazing performances but also in her unique parody songwriting. The show brilliantly combines humor and narrative, offering both entertainment and thought-provoking moments. It’s a truly outstanding show that I highly recommend!
