Marcus J Freed bares his soul in this phenomenal, harrowing tale about his own life, overcoming life's trials and seeing the beautiful side to every chapter in Marcus Is Alive. Marcus is a wonderful storyteller, and through his life in this piece, he encapsulates every moment with captivating characters and heartfelt humor. I left the show realizing a lot about my own life, and how those moments one might have that one might think are bad moments might just be the blessings we needed the most. My friend Marcus poured every ounce of his eccentricity and passion into the performance, creating an unforgettable journey through trauma, healing, and joy. One standout moment was a brilliant, hilarious, and oddly moving ballad dedicated to “Officer Finger,” the police officer who wasn’t good at pointing the finger at the driver who injured Marcus. I absolutely loved the storytelling here. The way he started it with "what if's" about failed romances - to bring it to his near-death, catastrophic experience and WHAT IF that is being alive and escaping death was captivating. Marcus' show had no props, no projector images, just a man and his incredible seasoned performing skills on stage - and you aren't left bored for a SECOND.... full review
