About the Project

Carmen Luneé wanted nothing more than to be a successful serious reporter. With an envy-worthy career in local news behind her in Arizona and her confidence in tow, she makes the move to LA to pursue making the transition to the big times: national news.

We find Carmen after a year in LA and things have not quite worked out according to plan. In her professional life, she is a freelance reporter working herself tirelessly to cover small local stories whenever and wherever she can. She hates it. Without many friends or family, Carmen is on the verge of a deep depression. She feels trapped, frustrated, and with everyday she begins to lose grasp of her dreams.

We get a peek behind the stereotype of “the reporter”. A stereotype that perpetuates the idea that all reporters are wealthy, popular and ruthless news hounds surrounded by glitz and glamour. We take a step into the life of a complex individual dealing with personal struggles, family issues, loneliness and desperately trying to make it and survive in LA like the rest of us.
