Davonna Dehay brings a powerhouse performance, while DeeDee Woche is wonderfully grounded and on point. Stephanie Fuery’s direction is great too. The show was funny at times and emotionally raw at its core. The 45 mins flew by. I wanted more. Dolores is a must see!...

Watching "Dolores" was a deeply moving experience for me. Mr. Bakers script is raw, and exposes familial trauma in a very real and provocative way. Devonna Dehay's Dolores is a severely wounded person who lives with courage, humor and incredible human spirit. Deedee Woche's Sandra evokes the quiet desperation of people just trying to get by, until she is overcome with realization that love is all that matters in the end. Protecting the fragility of real love forged by fire is essential to our collective existence. Powerful stuff, which landed every note under Stephanie Feury's direction in a beautifully crafted, intimate stage setting. Highly recommend going to see this production before it's gone! ...

Dolores is not an easy play to watch or digest; however, that does not take away from the importance of its messages. This two-person play deals with sisters and their dysfunctional relationship. Both of them are past victims of domestic abuse. And while one constantly attracts violent partners to her, the other feels she has moved on to a better life.
A few questions the play asks are as follows: If siblings are estranged, are they obligated to be there for each other in times of turmoil? Does trauma follow some more than others? When is it time to take a stand and what happens if someone goes too far?

Sisters one act play
"Dolores" is a beautifully crafted one-act play, brilliantly directed and written. In just 45 minutes, time seems to fly, and I found myself swept away by a whirlwind of emotions. The intimate set, though small, is remarkably imaginative, transporting you right into the world of two sisters as they unravel their shared history. Both actors deliver outstanding performances, and the casting is spot-on. I was particularly captivated by Dolores the blonde actress; she has an undeniable charisma. The play unfolds so swiftly—it’s astonishing what you’ve managed to achieve within such a compact space. ...

Deedee and Davonna are a powerhouse duo. I was riveted from beginning to end. Their bond was palpable, their performances electric, and not a single moment felt false. The emotional tension and looming danger of the play lay bare how women are so often trapped in cycles of violence, and how the very systems meant to protect them, including family, can fail them.
To me, Dolores is a deeply feminist work, not because it waves a banner, but because it tells a devastatingly human story. A story about what happens when a woman’s voice, safety, and autonomy are denied, and how those around her become complicit in the silence.
Go see this show. It’s urgent. It’s truthful. And it stays with you....
