I appreciate the innovative take on the solo show style. I appreciate the inner psychology that we got from all of the characters, and I feel like I was able to get close to all of them. The actors had excellent chemistry with each other and clearly were having a wonderful time on stage, creating an enjoyable theatrical experience from start to finish. For my liking I would have desired for the play to invest more in the existential drama, but that’s only my personal cup of tea. I recommend seeing this!...

If Inside Out was a play, this was a concoction of emotions, playing with all the facets of oneself. This play talks about the realness of self-image, insecurities, imposter syndrome, and having all the voices in your brain brought to life in the theater....

Once again, Drew Petriello writes a show full of wit, heart, comedy, and a frank look inward at oneself. This show is extremely timely, as the world around us is growing harsher by the day, and our ability to cope weakens. Except Myself is one to see, and each artist involved is one to watch!...

It was like Inside Out if Inside Out FUCKS.
What a fun show that made me sit with myself and ask myself some really important questions about identity. The show was a beautiful conversation about self love and isolation and the importance of dealing with your shit. ...

A clever and exceptionally creative play!! I was cracking up from beginning to end. The show perfectly captures how disorienting life changes can be to your sense of self and purpose. The audience feels intimately incorporated into the story and you can't help but love each ridiculous character....

In Except Myself, playwright Drew Petriello takes on an ambitious and slippery subject: the self. It is reminiscent of Steven Pressfield’s The War of Art, reminding us that Resistance plays a huge part in blocking our creativity. It starts out chaotic but blends into wit, playfulness, and a surprising emotional punch. ...

Drew Petriello's brain is a wild place and I love it. "Except Myself" is clever, funny, dark at times, and plays at being both deep and shallow. Highly recommend....
