What I liked
The show was directed with precision and thoughtfulness. Each gesture, each moved charged the air with story as Greg navigated the audience through the halls and chapters of surrealism. The set was indicative of what the creative process looks like for so many. The writing. The use of language. The pacing. I liked it all.
What I didn't like
The only thing that could be improved is that QFWFQ gets many more performances post-Fringe. This show needs to be seen far and wide.
My overall impression
It is quite evident that the muses have visited Greg Nussen. QFWFQ is an ambitious, surreal, and spectacular journey into the depths of humanity that weaves its way through some of Greg’s most intimate and vulnerable experiences. I had no idea what to expect when I entered the theater, and I didn’t want to leave my seat once the show was over. It was spell-binding. Greg’s performance permeated the stage with charm, humor, and craft of the highest order. They are seemingly lost and in control, walking a tight-rope of storytelling that subverts the audience’s expectations at every turn. The writing was concise and rich, each word strikingly intentional. I fully believe we need to examine Greg’s mind for sheer brilliance. This is the type of work that restores my faith and reminds me of the inherent good. May QFWFQ have a long and fruitful life.
