The play is very current in regards to our current political climate. It is saying what we should be saying…actually, SCREAMING at the top of our lungs. In addition, as a vegan, while painful to watch that these beings are heading towards an end…it is the thing people choose to look away from…in this case, you have no choice to hear their future. I would also like to point out the theme of social anxiety that Patty experiences…SUCH A HUMANEXPERIENCE!!!!! We are all more alike than we think in our fears and thoughts and self-views….which I think is part of the point of this piece.
What I didn't like
I don’t have anything for improvement. I would just like to see more.
My overall impression
This was a beautifully written piece…very current, human and relatable story told in an unusual way. The set was minimal and the focus was on the storytelling and the two characters. The acting was delightful…the big personality of Betsy, played by Jennifer Derosa, was the perfect compliment to the innocence and vulnerability of Patty…a doe-eyed, somewhat naive cow played by Jules Bruff. The characters were so loveable. The Actresses execution of our two leads make us fall in love with them all the while knowing they are facing impending doom.
Profound.
