All of it. The lead cows lead us through the twists and turns of their relationship and the larger philosophical issues posed with wonderful performances by both actors handling a challenging two-hander script seemingly with ease.
What I didn't like
Aaron is a strong writer and theater creator and even in the brief moments where the speeches felt like they might become repetitive or wordy he brings those moments home efficiently and it all makes sense. So, no notes.
My overall impression
A group of cows are in line waiting for…what? They don’t know, though we suspect we do. A conversation between two of them becomes a meditation on the joys and difficulties of friendship, desire for happiness, questions about the hidden and mysterious wider world around them and hopes for a pleasant future for the whole herd, if their curiosity could just breed some adventurous action. There is a bit..maybe more than a bit.. of political parable inside their delightful exchanges, and maybe a lesson to learn as the line reaches the end of the line. This is a really wonderful piece of writing and performance, and with more than a few good, and evil, laughs as well.
